
Training Camp Starts for Head Coach Nick Bootland and K-Wings on October 6th

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce its 2008-09 training camp will start this Monday, October 6th.
Beginning a new era of hockey in Kalamazoo Wings history, Head Coach Nick Bootland and the K-Wings will begin their first practice of the season on Monday at 10 a.m.
Training camp is open to the public and the K-Wings are encouraging fans to come witness any of the team's practices.
The first week of training camp will feature three preseason games against two top rivals, the Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Fort Wayne Komets. Kalamazoo's first test of the preseason will occur Wednesday, October 8th at 7:11 p.m. when the K-Wings battle the Lumberjacks at Wings Stadium.
Two days later on Friday, October 10th, the K-Wings will continue their preseason schedule when they host the Fort Wayne Komets in first game of a home and home series. The two teams wrap up their preseason schedule the following night, Saturday, October 11th, with a 7:30 p.m. face-off in Fort Wayne. Tickets for the K-Wings preseason home games go on sale Saturday, October 4th at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office and are only $5.
All the K-Wings' preseason games can be heard on the K-Wings Radio Network (WLKM 95.9 FM) starting with the Kalsee Credit Union Pre-Game Show 15 minutes prior to face-off.

After the first week of practice, the K-Wings will begin finalizing their roster while preparing for the season opener on Saturday, October 18th when they travel to Bloomington to play the PrairieThunder.
Kalamazoo starts its 38-game regular season home schedule on Saturday, October 25thagainst Fort Wayne during the 5th Annual Orange Ice Game presented by Outdoor Services, WWMT, and 92.5 FM WZUU. Fans are encouraged to dress up in costumes and participate in a costume contest and trick-or-treating in the concourse. Before the game, the K-Wings will celebrate its new season with a carnival in the south parking lot beginning at noon. Customary for opening night, all fans will received a FREE magnetic schedule courtesy of Meijer.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games range in price from $9.90-$14.90 for adults and only $6.90 for kids ages 12 and under. Fans can purchase individual game tickets at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice and New Year's Eve game) will be increased by $1.
All tickets that are purchased for any K-Wings game (including the preseason) on game-day will be increased by $1 per ticket.
