'Jacks on 94 K-ROCK in 2008-09

MUSKEGON, MI.--- Set to embark on a new beginning in the 49th consecutive year of pro hockey in Muskegon, the newly-minted Muskegon Lumberjacks have solidified their all-encompassing radio presentation for the rapidly-approaching 2008-09 International Hockey League season. Through this arrangement, the Lumberjacks game broadcasts, popular Monday night radio show and daily update report will be launched to coincide with the commencement of training camp sessions.

Today, the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Synergy Broadcast Group have reached accord whereby radio station WWKR-FM 94.1 will continue as the radio flagship home for all of the Lumberjacks' live play-by-play broadcasts. Moreover, also included in the contractual agreement will be the very popular daily "Lumberjacks Hockey Update" daily report to be heard on WWKR-FM 94.1 Monday through Friday at 5:20 pm while the ever-popular two hours Monday night show receives a new name and time slot, also on WEST MICHIGAN'S "94 K-ROCK."

For the 2008-09 IHL season, all games played by the Muskegon Lumberjacks, pre-season, regular season and playoff games, home and away, in their entirety, will be aired live with all of the play-by-play action on "WEST MICHIGAN'S 94 K-ROCK." As in past years, all game broadcasts will consist of a one-half hour Pre-Game Show as well as the "Lumberjacks Star of the Game Show," which will immediately follow all home game originations, and the Lumberjacks Post Game Show, the latter program to follow after all Lumberjacks games.

The Lumberjacks initial game broadcast of the new season will be their pre-season premiere on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8TH, when they travel to Kalamazoo to be hosted by their principal archrivals, the Wings. Opening face-off for the pre-season lift-off is set for 7:00 pm with air time on "94 K-ROCK" being 6:30 pm. It's the first of two pre-season dress rehearsals for the 'Jacks pre-season slate. The first regular season broadcast on "94 K-ROCK" is on the docket for SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH, the opening night, coming-out party for the second coming of Muskegon's Lumberjacks. On opening night, the 'Jacks will collide with 2007-08 IHL Turner Cup runner-up Port Huron at 7:00 pm with broadcast time set for 6:30 pm.

Also included as an instrumental, major part of the Lumberjacks 2008-09 radio will be the 14th consecutive year of the daily report, now known as "THE LUMBERJACKS HOCKEY UPDATE." This daily report will be on the air on WWKR-FM 94.1, "94 K-ROCK" Monday through Friday at 5:20 pm with the return of the report set for MONDAY, OCTOBER 6TH.

To complete the Lumberjacks total radio package on "94 K-ROCK" will be the ever-popular two hours Monday night hockey show which will gain a new name and new time for this season. "THE MONDAY NIGHT 'JACKS JAM" will be presented from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm live from Cuti's Sports Bar and Grill in Muskegon. "THE MONDAY NIGHT 'JACKS JAM" will mark its return MONDAY, OCTOBER 13TH.

The long-time "voice" of Muskegon hockey, TERRY FICORELLI has returned with the launching of the Lumberjacks, following a brief stint in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit. He will begin his 14th year at the Muskegon 'mic" for all of the Lumberjacks game broadcasts, daily update report and Monday night "Jacks Jam" show on WWKR-FM 94.1, "WEST MICHIGAN'S 94 K-ROCK" and the world-wide internet at www.muskegonlumberjacks.com.
