Toyota Frozen Dome Classic to Shatter American Hockey League Indoor Attendance Record

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch announced that ticket sales for the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic on November 22 have surpassed the American Hockey League indoor attendance record of 20,672, previously set on Jan. 18, 1997 when the Carolina Monarchs hosted the Kentucky Thoroughblades at the Greensboro Coliseum.

"I'm thrilled at the community response to the first ever hockey game at the Carrier Dome," said Crunch Owner Howard Dolgon. "Now, it's time to push the pedal to the metal and break the United States professional indoor record, which would establish Syracuse as the best pound-for-pound sports city in America."

The largest crowd to watch an indoor professional hockey game in the United States is 28,183, set when the Crunch's NHL affiliate, the Tampa Bay Lightning, hosted the Philadelphia Flyers in a Stanley Cup Playoff game at the Thunderdome on April 23, 1996.

Tickets to the Toyota Frozen Dome Classic are on sale now and range in price from $20 to $50. Discount ticket prices are available for groups of 15 or more people. Tickets can be purchased either in person at the Syracuse Crunch Office located at the War Memorial Arena on 800 South State Street in Syracuse, The Carrier Dome Box Office or by calling (315) 473- 4444 and at all Ticketmaster outlets.

The Crunch will return from a three-game road trip to host the Rochester Americans on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. Single game and season tickets for the 2014-15 season are on sale now and can be purchased either in person at the Crunch Box Office located at the War Memorial on 800 South State Street in Syracuse, or by calling the office at (315) 473-4444.
