Springfield Falcons Recall Goaltender Scott Munroe

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have recalled goaltender Scott Munroe from the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Munroe, 32, has appeared in one game with the Wings this season, recording a 2.00 goals-against average and .882 save percentage, turning away 15 of 17 shots in an Oct. 18 victory against the Elmira Jackals. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound goaltender spent the 2013-14 season with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League. In 36 regular season games, Munroe accumulated a 19-16-0 record and posted three shutouts to go along with a 2.06 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native has appeared in a career total of 243 American Hockey League regular season contests, amassing a 114-90-14 record with 19 shutouts.

The Springfield Falcons travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 24 before returning to the MassMutual Center to face the Norfolk Admirals on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and the Syracuse Crunch on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. Ticket packages are on sale now.
