Tourists and the Blood Connection Partner in May 7 Blood Drive

ASHEVILLE, NC-- On Thursday, May 7, the Asheville Tourists and The Blood Connection will join forces at McCormick Field. A blood drive will take place from 10:30am-3:00pm. The Blood Connection bloodmobile will be parked at the top of the hill near the entrance to McCormick Field. All blood donors will receive an Asheville Tourists baseball cap, two complimentary ticket vouchers to any 2015 Sunday-Wednesday game, and a complimentary meal provided directly after your donation which features a hot dog, chips, and a drink. The ticket vouchers are not redeemable on June 23.

"The Blood Connection is very excited to partner with the Asheville Tourists again this year, said The Blood Connection's Marketing and Public Relations Manager Donna Ehrlich. "As the sole provider of blood for all of Buncombe County, we are proud to 'keep it local' by giving life back to the community."

"We are proud to co-host a blood drive with The Blood Connection again this year," added Tourists president Brian DeWine. "We invite Tourists fans and community members to come out to McCormick Field and donate blood."

As of October 2014, The Blood Connection is proud to be the sole provider of blood and blood products to all of Mission Health throughout Western North Carolina. With your support, you can help save lives in Western North Carolina and enjoy a Tourists game, cap, and meal.
