Kannapolis, NC - After falling behind 3-0 early, the Kannapolis Intimidators (9-11) used a pair of big innings to defeat the Greenville Drive (12-9) 6-5 on Wednesday night and clinch a victory in the three-game series.

The Intimidators got on the board in the fourth against Drive starter Jeffry Fernandez (0-3) thanks to a two-run single from Zach Fish to cut the lead to one, and they took the lead for good with a four-run fifth. James Baldwin tripled with one out and scored on Eddy Alvarez's groundout, and later in the frame, Chris Curley delivered the big blow with a three-run homer to left-center that finished Fernandez for the night.

Devon Davis (2-1) got the win for Kannapolis by throwing two and two-third innings of relief with only one run allowed.

The Drive scored single runs in each of the first three innings against Yelmison Peralta to take a 3-0 lead. Nick Longhi singled home Derek Miller, who also singled, in the first to put the Drive on the board.

In the second, Francisco Tellez drew a two-out walk and came in when Mike Meyers tripled to right field.

The third inning was Jordan Procyshen's turn to chip in, and he smacked a solo homer to right for his first long ball of the season.

Procyshen delivered another run-scoring hit in the ninth, as his two-out single plated Mauricio Dubon, who tripled, to cut the Kannapolis lead to one, but David Trexler got a groundout to end the game.

Greenville received multi-hit nights from Procyshen and Rafael Devers, while Christian Stringer had three hits to lead the Intimidators.

Aaron Wilkerson gave the Drive a terrific outing out of the bullpen with three and one-third scoreless, hitless innings with one walk and three strikeouts.

From here, the Drive continue their road trip against the Northern Division as they begin a four-game series with the Hagerstown Suns on Friday night at 7:05. RH Michael Kopech (1-1, 1.98), the reigning South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week, starts the opener for the Drive, and the Suns will send RH Phillips Valdez (1-1, 1.80) to the hill.
