LAST TIME OUT:
Hartford Athletic suffered a 4-0 loss on the road at the hands of top-5 side Nashville SC. Nashville scored all four goals in the second half of the match. Hartford fell behind early - but not on the scoreboard. In the fifth minute of the match, midfielder Mads Jorgensen was given a red card after a hard tackle on Nashville Captain Michael Reed. Despite the absence of an 11th man, Hartford Athletic went into the half with the score tied at 0. Nashville broke the match open in the second half. Ken Tribbett, who came on for the injured Redd, recorded the opener for the home side with a header off of a free kick. Daniel Rios, Alex Winn, and Ropapa Mensah each added a goal in the next 20 minutes to end any hopes of a comeback from the short-handed Hartford side.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Hartford Athletic - Sebastian Dalgaard, F
Dalgaard played some of his best minutes of the season before suffering an injury 6 weeks ago at Birmingham Legion FC. Since returning from injury, Dalgaard has yet to play a full match but has scored a goal and is starting to find his form from earlier in the season. He'll be a big part of the offensive attack come Saturday.
New York Red Bulls II - Jared Stroud, MF
Stroud does it all for RB2 and he's having a fantastic season. Stroud is second on the team in goals scored with 9 and first on the team in assists (7) and chances created (61). The high-powered Red Bulls attack runs through Stroud and Hartford will have to slow him down in order to keep the Red Bull attack at bay.
LAST TIME OUT:
New York Red Bulls II come into the match red hot, recording a point in every match since a June 22nd loss at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. RBII is led by a stable of goal scorers, Tom Barlow (10), Jared Stroud (9), and Mathias Jørgensen. Stroud also leads the team in assists (7) and chances created (61). The Red Bull II attack will be hungry to attack a Hartford defense that allowed 4 goals to Nashville SC on Wednesday night.
