Motor City Rockers News Release
On Friday night, the Motor City Rockers traveled to Watertown, NY for their first road game series of the season. The Watertown Wolves started the game series by raising the banner for last year's Commissioners Cup Championship, their third Commissioners Cup Championship in the teams' franchise history.
By the end of the first period, you could tell these teams were evenly matched, both having several opportunities to score, but goaltenders, Trevor Babin (Rockers), and Greg Hussey (Wolves), kept the game scoreless for all three periods. With the third period ending with both teams remaining scoreless, the Rockers headed into their first official overtime of the season.
After about a minute and a half of overtime, the Wolves were able to sneak one in on Babin, leading them to an Overtime Victory with a score of 1-0. Although the game didn't end how the Rockers wanted, there's still one more game in the series for the Rockers to come back and clench a victory over the Wolves. Trevor Babin was the Rockers star player of the game with a total of 34 Saves. The Rockers face off against the Wolves again tonight at 7:30 pm at Watertown Arena. The game can be streamed off the Watertown Wolves Youtube page.
