WILMINGTON, Del. - Five Pelicans recorded multiple hits, led by Gleyber Torres' two knocks and three RBIs, as Myrtle Beach rallied for an 8-7 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks Saturday at Frawley Stadium.

Wilmington (33-53, 6-11) led 6-5 when Rashad Crawford reached on an error to begin the inning. After a wild pitch by Blue Rocks reliever Jacob Bodner (0-2) sent him to second, Torres doubled Crawford in to tie the game. Torres then stole third on a delayed steal before Ian Rice walked. Two batters later, Yasiel Balaguert chopped a grounder to short, allowing Torres to score and give Myrtle Beach (44-43, 8-9) the 7-6 advantage.

The Pelicans tacked on in the eighth. With two outs, Charcer Burks walked before Crawford tripled him in for what proved to be a huge insurance run, making it 8-6.

Blue Rocks catcher Chad Johnson homered in the bottom of the eighth to pull Wilmington to within 8-7. However, Ryan McNeil whiffed two in a perfect ninth to nail down the 8-7 triumph and pick up his 12th save. The righty has now worked 14 consecutive scoreless appearances dating back to May 24.

Myrtle Beach jumped out to an early start. Burks struck out but reached on a wild pitch to begin the game, moving to third on Crawford's double. A Torres infield single coupled with a Blue Rocks error brought in both runners to put the Birds ahead 2-0.

However, the Blue Rocks lashed right back, with Samir Duenez blasting a three-run home run to put Wilmington up 3-2 in the bottom of the first.

The Birds tied the game on a Tyler Pearson double in the second before grabbing the lead when Torres charged in on a wild pitch in the third.

Once again, though, a three-run homer placed Wilmington back on top. Brandon Downes drilled one to deep left in the bottom of the third to give the Rocks a 6-4 advantage. In the fourth, Torres lofted a sacrifice fly to pull Myrtle Beach to within one.

Pelicans reliever Tommy Thorpe (4-4) threw a scoreless inning out of the bullpen before the Birds rallied in the seventh.

Myrtle Beach sends RHP Zach Hedges (6-7, 2.98 ERA) to the mound for Sunday's 5:05 p.m. game against Wilmington LHP Colin Rodgers (2-5, 5.07 ERA). Coverage begins at 4:50 p.m. on MyrtleBeachPelicans.com/Broadcast, the MiLB First Pitch app and TuneIn.
