Frederick Keys News Release

Frederick, Md. -Before Saturday's game against the Winston-Salem Dash, Keys relief pitcher, Tanner Chleborad was promoted to the Double-A Bowie Baysox. The right-hander becomes the third Frederick player to go up to the Baysox in less than a week, joining Matthew Grimes and Steve Wilkerson.

The 10th Keys player to earn a promotion this year, Chleborad, 23, went 3-2 with one save and a 3.23 ERA over 20 games (one start). Logging 30.2 innings, he allowed 32 hits and 11 runs to go with eight walks and 22 strikeouts. Opponents were batting .269 against him, while Chleborad had a 2.00 groundout-to-airout ratio. Chleborad has not given up a run in his last 10.2 innings (spanning his last nine relief appearances).

In his first Carolina League season, Chleborad split 2015 between Low-A Delmarva and the GCL Orioles, going 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 13 combined games. He spent time on the disabled list from mid-April to early August.

Originally from Rapid City, SD, Chleborad was selected by Baltimore in the 16th round of the 2014 draft out of Washington State. He was also taken by the Mariners in the 24th round of the 2011 draft but did not sign.

The Keys and Dash play the second of four games on Saturday. Right-hander Cory Jones (2-3, 2.44) gets the ball for the orange and black and will be countered by righty Kelvis Valerio (2-3, 3.50). First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m and the broadcast can be heard on 1450 AM The Source and frederickkeys.com. For tickets, fans can call the Keys at 301-815-9939 or visit frederickkeys.com.
