Austin, TX November 27, 2012 - The Austin Toros today announced they have traded Wesley Witherspoon for forward/center Rick Jackson. The three team trade sent Witherspoon to the RGV Vipers, who traded their third round pick in the 2013 NBA D-League draft to the Santa Cruz Warriors, who agreed to send Jackson to the Toros. Jackson is expected to join the Toros on the road for Wednesday's season opener against the Texas Legends.
Jackson (6-9, 240) played in France in 2011 for the Chorale Roanne Basket averaging nine points and 5.5 rebounds in 21 games played. He played four years (2007-11) at Syracuse and was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year his senior year after leading the league in rebounds, field goal percentage and blocked shots.
