Toros Host First Dennis Johnson Memorial High School All-Star Game

AUSTIN, Texas, March 21 - The Austin Toros announced today that the organization will host an annual central Texas high school basketball all-star game in tribute of the late Dennis Johnson, former NBA great and Toros head coach. Coach Johnson passed away suddenly in late February. Prior to the beginning of the game, the team will honor Johnson and the members of the all-star team.
The central Texas all-stars are divided into two (north and south) teams and are comprised of high school basketball players from seventeen different schools. Twenty four high school seniors will compete prior to the start of the Toros last home game on April 14. The all-star game activities will start at 3:30 p.m. and the Toros will take on the Dakota Wizards at 7 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center (4th and Red River).

"Coach Johnson was very involved in our local youth basketball community," said Toros president Mike Berry. "It's an honor for the Toros to host this event and recognize some of the most talented players in the region."
April 14 is also Toros fan appreciation night. Fans who purchase a ticket for the April 14 activities may attend both games.
