Friday, Los Angeles (89) vs. Albuquerque (95) - STAPLES Center

There were 15 lead changes in the tight contest, but Albuquerque pulled away in the second half by outscoring Los Angeles 25-18 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Albuquerque was led by guard Julius Hodge and center Andreas Glyniadakis. Hodge had a game high 32 points and 14 assists. Glyniadakis scored 24 points to go along with his 9 rebounds. Los Angeles had 5 players in double figures. Forward Andre Patterson led the D-Fenders with 17 points on 8-13 shooting. Los Angeles center Wesley Wilson added 12 points and 7 boards off the bench. Albuquerque leads the series 2-3.

Sunday, Los Angeles (93) vs. Fort Worth (96) - STAPLES Center

Fort Worth shot 55% and outscored the D-Fenders 28-18 in the fourth quarter. The Flyers held Los Angeles to just 3 points in the final 2 minutes. Fort Worth forward Jeremy Richardson scored 24 points on 9-15 shooting. Flyers point guard Curtis Stinson had 24 points and 10 assists. All five of Los Angeles' starters scored in double figures. Guard Brian Chase led the D-Fenders with 19 points. Forward Sean Banks added 15 points and a team high 7 assists. Forward Nick Lewis recorded his first double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the D-Fenders. Los Angeles shot 27% from beyond the arc and 68% from the free-throw line. Fort Worth leads this series 1-2. The D-Fenders now sit at 19-23 (.452)

In The Standings

Los Angeles dropped to forth place in the Western Conference with .463 (19-22). The Albuquerque Thunderbirds are one game ahead and have jumped into third place at .488 (20-21). The Colorado 14ers are still holding on to the second spot with .643 (27-15), seven and a half games ahead. The Idaho Stampede lead the conference in first place at .683 (28-13), nine games ahead of the D-Fenders.

Coming Up

Los Angeles will host the Bakersfield Jam on Sunday, March 25 at STAPLES Center, before the Lakers game with a 2:30pm tip off. This will be the final regular season meeting between the two teams, with the D-Fenders leading the series 3-2. On center court during halftime, there will be a special presentation of our Heroes Among Us award for March to The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center. The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center is an after school educational program that serves the children of South Central Los Angeles by providing educational, vocational, cultural and enrichment programs. Since 1990, the Center has empowered thousands of inner city children by providing a safe and caring learning environment where by the youth of the community can share, grow and develop into productive citizens.

Having a Lakers ticket for a STAPLES Center home game is also your ticket to a lower level seat for the D-Fenders. Lakers season ticket holders who attend a D-Fenders home game will receive a special gift, while supplies last, by visiting the Season Ticket Holder Booth on the main concourse at the Figueroa Street Entrance.

On July 31, 2006 the Los Angeles Lakers announced that they had become the first NBA franchise in history to own an NBA Development League team. The Los Angeles D-Fenders play their home games at STAPLES Center pre and post Lakers home games. The Lakers devoted fans were given the opportunity to name the NBA D-League team in an online naming contest.
