
Toros Celebrate Valentine's Day

AUSTIN, Texas, February 13 - The Austin Toros will host Valentine's Day/Singles Night Tuesday, Feb. 14 as the Toros battle the Roanoke Dazzle at the Austin Convention Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
"Our Valentine's Day game will continue to promote the developing love affair between the Toros franchise and greater Austin. We have a great night of basketball and family entertainment planned, as well as special promotions for our singles community," stated Toros president Mike Berry.
In celebration of Valentine's Day, singles can purchase the "True Love and Toros" ticket package for only $14 which includes entry to the game and an invitation to a pre-game mixer at Truluck's Seafood Restaurant. The ticket also provides seating in a special "Singles area" where each row will alternate between male and female seating, allowing the chance for singles to meet and mingle throughout the game.
The Toros Valentine's Day/Singles Night will also feature various in-game giveaways and contests including the Toros version of the "Dating Game" presented by It's Just Lunch. Plus, fans 18 or older can enter to win a date with Toros guard Derrick Zimmerman or 2005-06 Capital City dancer Stephanie.
A silent auction offering plane tickets, restaurant vouchers and tickets to future Spurs' home games will also highlight the heart felt gift-giving evening. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
Doors open to the general public at 6 p.m. and parking garages are conveniently located on the corners of 5th & Red River and 2nd & Trinity. Tickets start as low as $9 per seat and can be purchased at austintoros.com or at the nine local Pinky's Wireless locations in the Austin and Round Rock areas, as well as Waterloo Records. The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.) and Tulsa 66ers. (Okla.) The Toros are affiliated with the NBA's Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and the 2005 World Champion San Antonio Spurs.
