Toronto Rock Releases 2004 Expansion Draft Protected List

The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club of the National Lacrosse League has released their protected list for the 2004 National Lacrosse League Expansion Draft. The draft that will see one player from each of the league's respective clubs' unprotected lists head to Minnesota for the 2005 season, will take place later this month.

The Rock's list includes the NLL 2004 MVP and Rock Captain Jim Veltman and the Rock's number 1 and 2 scorers last season; Colin Doyle and Blaine Manning. Bob Watson, Josh Sanderson, Ian Rubel, Matt Shearer, Phil Sanderson, Aaron Wilson, Derek Suddons, Patrick Merrill, and Anthony Cosmo round out the Rock's list.

Notable names among the league's unprotected players include Philadelphia Wings forward Jake Bergey, Buffalo Bandits forward and team captain Rich Kilgour, Toronto Rock forward Chris Driscoll and veteran defenseman Glenn Clark, Rochester Knighthawks forward Kim Squire and veteran Vancouver Ravens players including forwards Chris Gill, Dan Stroup, defenseman Pat Coyle and goaltender Dwight Maetche.
