San Jose Stealth News Release

San Jose - The San Jose Stealth of the National Lacrosse League have announced their protected list for the 2004 NLL Expansion Draft. The date and time of the draft, which is to provide players for the new Minnesota franchise, will be announced later this month.

Each team is allowed to protect either 10 runners and two goalies or 13 runners and a goaltender from being selected. Minnesota will draft a total of 10 players, one from each of the current member clubs, with no team losing more than one player.

The Stealth's situation is different from most other NLL teams, as they have two No. 1 goaltenders to protect (Rob Blasdell and Brandon Miller), thus prohibiting the club from protecting more players.

"We have two No. 1 goalies," said General Manager and Head Coach Johnny Mouradian. "We need to protect both of them, which means we're going to lose a good player, but we can't afford to let one of our goalies go."
