League announces Entry Draft and Expansion Draft Dates/Times

The 2004 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft will take place on Tuesday, October 26th at 8pm Eastern Time. The Entry Draft will consist of six rounds. The league's eleven teams will select a total of 66 players. The expansion Minnesota NLL team currently holds the top overall selection in the Entry Draft. The Entry Draft will be held via telephone conference call.

Teams will select from among the best young lacrosse talent in the United States and Canada. The players come from the box/indoor lacrosse programs of Canadian Junior Lacrosse, which includes the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) and the British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA). Players are also drafted from American collegiate lacrosse programs of the National College Athletics Association (NCAA) and the National Athletic Interscholastic Association (NAIA).

An updated list of the current Entry Draft selection order will be released in the coming days. Fans will be able to follow the draft selections via the league website, www.nll.com. Further information on a possible internet webcast of the Entry Draft will be released at a later date.

EXPANSION DRAFT FOR MINNESOTA

New Minnesota NLL Team to Draft Players on October 19th at 2pm Eastern

The National Lacrosse League announces the 2004 Expansion Draft will take place on Tuesday, October 19th at 2pm Eastern Time. The new Minnesota NLL team will draft a total of ten players from the other NLL teams as they begin to build their inaugural season roster. The Expansion Draft will take place via telephone confernece call.

The yet-to-be-named Minnesota team, led by General Manager Marty O'Neill, will draft one player from each of league's other ten teams. Each team has submitted a list of protected players to the league that cannot be selected in the expansion draft.
