
Toronto FC Sign Midfielder Julian Altobelli to Short-Term Agreement

Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed midfielder Julian Altobelli to a short-term agreement from Toronto FC II for the club's MLS match against Charlotte FC on Wednesday, October 4. Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
Altobelli, 20, has scored 10 goals and registered six assists in 71 appearances across three seasons (2021, 2022, 2023) with Toronto FC II. After signing with TFC II on December 16, 2020, Altobelli made his club debut against FC Tucson on May 26, 2021 and scored his first goal for the Young Reds against Fort Lauderdale CF on June 19, 2021. He represented the Canadian National Team at the 2019 Concacaf Men's U-17 Championship in the US, appearing in all five games as Canada qualified for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He also made one appearance with the Canadian U-17 team at the 2019 U-17 World Cup in Brazil. He originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in January 2014.
