SEATTLE, Wash. - With four games remaining during the 2023 MLS Regular Season, the LA Galaxy square off against Seattle Sounders FC in a road match at Lumen Field tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 30 (7:30 p.m. PT; Free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio).
Tonight's match marks the 48th meeting across all competitions between LA and Seattle Sounders FC, with the Galaxy trailing the all-time series 16-18-13. Against Seattle, the Galaxy hold a 10-13-13 record in league play, a 4-3-0 record in the MLS Cup Playoffs and a 2-2-0 record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In the last meeting between the Galaxy and the Sounders, LA earned a 3-1 win in the Round of 32 of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 10. In 17 regular-season matches played on the road against Seattle, the Galaxy hold a 4-7-6 record. LA will be looking for its first regular-season win on the road against the Sounders dating back to a 1-0 victory on July 9, 2016.
Following a 3-3 draw against the Portland Timbers on Sept. 30, the LA Galaxy improved to 6-2-8 (32 GF, 27 GA) in their last 16 regular season matches played dating back to May 31. During that span, LA has lost the fewest games in the league (2) and rank second in MLS in goals scored (35) behind only the Columbus Cew (36). Notably, the Galaxy have rescued a league-high 14 points from losing positions during the 16 matches played (6-2-8, 26 points) dating back to May 31. LA (30 GP, 8-11-11, 35 PTS) sits in 13th place in the Western Conference standings with a game in hand and six points behind ninth place FC Dallas (31 GP, 10-10-11, 41 PTS) for the final playoff spot.
