
Toronto FC Sign Jesus Batiz to MLS Short-Term Agreement

Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed Toronto FC II forward Jes ú s Batiz to MLS short-term agreement for Saturday's MLS regular season match against FC Dallas. Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, Leagues Cup and exhibition matches.
Batiz , 24, signed with Toronto FC II on March 21, 2023, and made his debut with the Young Reds against FC Cincinnati 2 on March 27, 2023. This season, Batiz has appeared and started in all five of Toronto FC II's 2024 MLS NEXT Pro matches to date, scoring two goals and recording two assists. The Tela, Honduras native also made three appearances with TFC in 2023 recording a total of 121 minutes across three matches, including his First Team debut against Orlando City on July 4, 2023. Batiz also previously spent time with Rochester New York FC of MLS NEXT Pro (2022) and New Amsterdam FC of the National Independent Soccer Association (2021) prior to joining the Young Reds.
