LAFC Falls 3-1 to San Jose Earthquakes

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling to the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The Black & Gold are now 4-4-3 (W-L-T) with 15 points on the season.

LAFC fell behind early as Rodrigues gave San Jose a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. The Earthquakes would add to their lead in the second half behind goals by Amahl Pellegrino (55th minute) and an own goal off LAFC's Denis Bouanga that deflected a corner kick into his own net.

Cristian Olivera got LAFC on the board in the 69th minute with a goal off an assist from Kei Kamara. It was Kamar's first goal contribution since joining the Club on March 29.

LAFC is back in action on Wednesday, May 8 when the Black & Gold open their 2024 U.S. Open Cup campaign in the Round of 32 against the Las Vegas Lights on the road at Cashman Field at 7:30 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on MLSSoccer.com, usopencup.com and uslsoccer.com and on radio on 710 ESPN & the ESPNLA App.

The Club returns to MLS action next Saturday, May 11 when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 7:30 p.m. PT at BMO Stadium. That match can be seen live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on 710 AM ESPN LA, the ESPN LA app, SiriusXM FC (Sirius XM), and 980 AM La Mera Mera (Esp).
