
Tornadoes Serve up Four Homers in 4-1 Loss

Four Brockton solo homeruns in consecutive innings led the Rox to a 4-1 win against the Worcester Tornadoes. From the fifth through the eighth innings, the Rox got homers from Sam Wiley, Ryan Royster, Dominic Ramos and Melvin Falu respectively. Brockton left-hander Reid Jackson earned a win in his pro debut, coming in to relieve Freddy Flores and pitching a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.
For the Tornadoes, 3B Mark Minicozzi went 2-for-4 with an RBI, including his first hit of the season. The Tornadoes' first lead of the year came on Minicozzi's single which plated Alex Nunez in the first inning.
Shawn Gilblair went 4.2 innings in his debut as a Tornadoes starter, allowing four hits and one run, while walking one and striking out two Rox batters.
The final game of the four-game set is on Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm. On Monday (at 7:05), the Tornadoes will start a seven-game homestand, before having their first off-day of the season.
