
Tornadoes Bounce Back with 10-1 Win

Mark Minicozzi went 4-for-5 and Zach Zuercher threw seven shutout innings as the Tornadoes took game two against the Jackals on Saturday night. Minicozzi and Alex Trezza each homered, while four batters scored twice for Worcester (Minicozzi, Abraham Nunez, Chris Colabello and Nick Salotti). The Tornadoes got four runs in the first thanks to four straight hits. Trezza's two-run shot capped the scoring that inning. In the third, Tony Patane got a two-RBI single to make it 6-0 Worcester. In the sixth inning, the Tornadoes added another pair, as Mark Minicozzi got two of his four runs batted in with his second double of the night. In the ninth, Minicozzi added his solo blast, and Patane tacked on a sacrifice fly, finalizing the score. Rick Asadoorian gave up a run on two hits in the ninth, striking out a pair (including the game's last batter, Nick Giarraputo). Albert Ayala pitched a perfect eighth inning with two strikeouts of his own.
