June 2, 2006 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Worcester Tornadoes News Release

WORCESTER, MA- Ever dreamed of having your own baseball card? Justin Lambert of Worcester will now have his own baseball card included in the Worcester Tornadoes official 2006 team set. Lambert was the winner of the team's Mini-Pak baseball card promotion.

All customers who purchased Tornadoes Mini-Pak's prior to Opening Day were eligible to win a personalized baseball card. The official 2006 Worcester Tornadoes team card set will be passed out free of charge to the first 1,000 fans on June 9, when the Tornadoes face the North Shore Spirit at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field at 7:05 pm. Jason's card will be distributed in the set along with cards for all players, coaches and,of course, the Tornadoes mascot, Twister.

Lambert, 25 of Worcester, was one of hundreds of fans who have purchased a Tornadoes Mini-Pak. Lambert purchased, "The Geddy" Mini-Pak, which includes five games spread throughout the season. He purchased it in February at the Tornadoes team office at 303 Main St. in Worcester.

Lambert was excited to find out that he had won. It was not something he was expecting. "I was surprised because I never win anything," Lambert said. Along with the baseball card, Lambert, a South High Community School graduate, will have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming home game.

Lambert would have liked season tickets, but realized that he could not fit all games into his schedule, so the Mini-Pak was the perfect option.

The Tornado organization is very excited about this promotion and happy that the winner is a loyal fan. "We look at this as another example of enjoying Tornadoes baseball with our fans in an interactive way. I can't wait to see Jason's card as part of the set," said CEO and President Alan Stone.

After attending a few games last season, Lambert looks forward to rooting on the Tornadoes at Hanover Insurance Park again in 2006. Lambert cites the friendly environment and the excitement both on and off the field. He was in the crowd last season when the Tornadoes captured the Can-Am league championship. "I was very excited when they won, especially because it was the inaugural season," Lambert said.
