STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC entered Friday night's USL League One contest with the highest-scoring offense across the league, but One Knoxville SC proved to be formidable in the attack as well, earning a 1-3 victory from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia.

One Knox started off hot and capitalized early, scoring in the 12th and 15th minutes of the match to put the pressure on the home side.

Tormenta FC responded with a quality chance via Kazaiah Sterling in the 21st minute, but a strong save by the Knoxville goalkeeper gave the visiting side the 2-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Tormenta FC came out in the second half looking to make a comeback; however, center official Turan Ozdemir issued three red cards in the 64th minute and changed the complexity of the match. Knoxville's Rodolfo Castro and Tormenta FC's Nick Akoto were shown red cards for violent conduct, while South Georgia Head Coach Ian Cameron was shown a red card for foul and abusive language.

Mukwelle Akale, who has been in an impressive run of form, scored an incredible left-footed curler in the 82nd minute, but Knoxville's defense proved to be too strong to mount a comeback.

Tormenta FC now turns its attention to back-to-back road matchups. First, the South Georgia side will head west to play Northern Colorado on Sunday, Sept. 10 (ESPN+). Then, Tormenta FC will head to Cary, North Carolina, for a second time this season to play North Carolina FC on Saturday, Sept. 16 (ESPN+).
