WINDSOR, Colo. - Coming off a win at league leaders North Carolina FC, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will welcome Charlotte Independence to Future Legends Field for the second time this season on Sunday with a special 4 p.m. kickoff time.

It will be the third matchup overall between the two teams this season, with each team winning at home. Hailstorm took a 3-2 win in Windsor on July 4, but dropped a 4-1 result later that month in Charlotte. The teams both enter the match with 40 points this season, with Hailstorm above Charlotte in the table on goal difference.

"The key is to keep them from scoring," Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said. "We know we can score against them, we've scored four in two games, the problem is they've scored six against us."

Charlotte brings a balanced attack to Future Legends Field with forwards Dane Kelly and Tresor Mbuyu having scored seven goals each this season and midfielder Joel Johnson chipping in with six.

Northern Colorado, meanwhile, has more of a focal point in forward Trevor Amann, who has scored in each of his last two games to bring his goal tally to 18 this season, tying the USL League One single-season record.

"The goal is to make it three games in a row," Amann said.

Hailstorm kick off against Charlotte at 4 p.m. Sunday at Future Legends Field. Tickets are available at hailstormfc.com.
