Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Matt Guerrier held Albuquerque to one run on three hits as the Isotopes fell 3-1 to the Nashville Sounds in game four of the American Conference Finals. The Isotopes season comes to an end after losing the best-of-five series three games to one, while Nashville moves on to face Sacramento for the Pacific Coast League title.

The long ball hurt the Isotopes for the second straight night as the Sounds followed up their four home run performance of Friday night with two more. Adam Hyzdu opened up the scoring in the second inning with his third homer of the postseason off Isotopes starter Aaron Small for the 1-0 lead. Albuquerque fought back in the third as Matt Erickson drove in Abraham Nunez with a two-out double. The score stayed the same until the seventh when John Barnes hit a two-run blast off Small for the final scoring of the night. Guerrier did the rest for Nashville, retiring the final 16 Isotopes batters in order and 19 of the final 20.

The Isotopes drew 8,051 fans for Saturday night's game and over 17,000 for the two playoff games after drawing over 575,000 for the 2003 Inaugural Season.
