Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Due to unplayable field conditions caused by a heavy rain storm that hit just before batting practice, Thursday's game between the Albuquerque Isotopes (56-54) and Sacramento River Cats (60-52) at Isotopes Park has been postponed. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, August 6 beginning at 4:35 PM and will consist of two seven-inning contests.

Thunderstorms and a heavy downpour hit the Isotopes Park area around 4:00 PM and never let up, dumping heavy amounts of rain on the playing surface, particularly the warning tracks, which quickly became unplayable.

Gates at Isotopes Park for Friday's twin-bill are set to open up at 3:30 PM. The first seven-inning game will be followed 30 minutes later by the second seven-inning contest.

Tickets for Thursday's game can be exchanged for a ticket of equal value for any remaining Isotopes 2010 regular season home game. Exchanges, however, must be made exclusively at the Isotopes Park Box Office.

Pitching in Friday's first game for the Isotopes will be Thursday's scheduled starter Alberto Bastardo (5-2, 4.86), who will take on Sacramento righty Tyson Ross (1-1, 2.21). In game two, 'Topes righty Tim Corcoran (5-6, 5.76) will get the ball for Albuquerque against the River Cats south-paw Bobby Cramer (0-0, No ERA).

In addition to the double-dip, Friday's game will feature mousepads to the first 3,000 fans, then Albuquerque's action-packed homestand rolls on with fireworks on Saturday and Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Sunday. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
