Bourjos Named Topps PCL Player of the Month

SALT LAKE CITY (August 5, 2010) - Current Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos has been named Topps Pacific Coast League Player of the Month for July, an award voted on by all 16 PCL managers.
The 23-year-old hit .438 (56-for-128) with six home runs, 23 RBI, 37 runs scored, eight doubles, five triples and seven stolen bases in 28 games played for the Bees in the month of July. His 56 hits and 37 runs scored set new highs for a month in the PCL since 2005.
The Scottsdale, Ariz. native was recalled by the Angels on Tuesday, August 3, and has since made his major league debut. In two games with the Angels, he owns a .286 batting average with one stolen base. In 102 games for the Bees this season, he hit .314 with 13 doubles, 12 triples, 13 home runs, 52 RBI and 27 stolen bases.
This is the first Topps Player of the Month award for Bourjos.
