Round Rock Express News Release

Round Rock – As Round Rock Express Head Groundskeeper Dennis Klein surveyed The Dell Diamond at 2:00 pm today all he could say was "we're being tested." In four Texas League seasons no game has ever been called due to rain. "This is the most water we've ever had on the field," Klein said. At 1:00 pm today, the end of a four-hour period of heavy rain, the entire field was under water. All kinds of debris were floating on the field and in each of the dugouts. Although batting practice has been cancelled for both teams, the game is expected to start at 7:05 pm.

EXPRESS ATTENDANCE ROLLING ALONG

Bad Economy & Losing Record Have not affected Club's Attendance

Round Rock – The Round Rock Express' record going into last Friday night's game was 8-24, the worst start in the club's four-year history, but you couldn't tell from that from the fans in the stands. 10,719 fans welcomed the E-Train back from a disappointing 2-6 roadtrip, only to see the home team lose again, 6-2. Showing their true love for the team, a season-high 11,067 showed up at The Dell Diamond on Saturday night, and were rewarded with an exciting 2-1 victory. Yesterday's attendance of 8,537 pushed the weekend's attendance over 30,000 for the three games. Express officials are expecting four crowds of over 10,000 in the next five games, which could push the homestand total over 80,000 for the eight games. Only one time in the team's history has there been over 80,000 fans in eight games (May 18-25, 2002 – 83,237).
