Round Rock Express News Release
After playing shortstop for most of his career, Greg Aquino is still learning how to pitch. If Monday night was a sign, he doesn't have far to go. Aquino shutout the Round Rock Express over seven innings to lift the El Paso Diablos to a 3-1 win in front of 10,511 at The Dell Diamond.
The Express threatened on a few occasions and had a chance to tie the game in the ninth. With the tying win on second, Brian Bruney got Mike Rosamond and Chris Tremie to ground out to finish off his eighth save.
Mike Burns (1-6) got the loss despite another effective outing. He went seven innings and allowed three runs â two earned â on five hits and struck out six.
Chris Burke extended his hitting streak to ten with a 1 for 4 night.
Aquino improves to 3-2.
NOTES Mike Gallo was promoted to AAA New Orleans before the game. The lefthander was 1-1 with a 1.31 ERA in 17 games before the move.
Outfielder Fehlandt Lentini was moved the Class A Salem after the game. Lentini hit .217 in 16 games in Round Rock.
