Metairie, LA – The Houston Astros announced today that the club has recalled left-handed pitcher Jeriome Robertson from New Orleans. To make room for Robertson on the roster, the club optioned right-handed pitcher Kirk Saarloos to the Zephyrs.

Robertson, 26, was 1-3 with an 8.36 ERA (26ER/28IP) in six starts for Houston earlier this season, striking out 23 and walking 11. He was optioned to New Orleans on May 2, when Saarloos was recalled. In one start for the Zephyrs, Robertson was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA (5ER/6.2IP).

Saarloos is expected to join the Zephyrs on Thursday, made two starts for the Astros in May and recorded no decisions and a 15.63 ERA (11ER/6.1IP) with seven strikeouts and four walks. In six starts for New Orleans in 2003, he was 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA (8ER/43.2IP), including two complete games, 25 strikeouts and five walks.

Left-Hander Pitcher Mike Gallo has been added to the Zephyrs roster from Class AA Round Rock. Gallo, 26 year old native of Long Beach, CA. was 1-1 with a 1.31 ERA (20.2 ER/3ER) with three saves in 17 appearances for the Express.

The Zephyrs continue a four game series with the Omaha Royals today with a doubleheader at 4:05 p.m. Jonathan Johnson (2-3, 4.01 ERA) is scheduled to start in game one for the Zephyrs and face Shawn Sedlacek (0-5, 7.46). Bob Scanlan (0-0, 7.50) will start for the Zephyrs in game two versus Scott Mullen (2-1, 3.32).
