October 26, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Eagles Soar In: The Tulsa Oilers host the Colorado Eagles tonight, in just the second home game for the season for the Oilers.
Records: Oilers are 2-1-1 with 5 points tied for third place in the Berry Conference. Colorado is 3-1-0 for 6 points tied for first place in the Turner Conference.
Season Series: This is the first of five meetings between the two teams this season. They will meet again on Friday night in Colorado.
Recent Action: Tulsa is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss Saturday night at Bloomington. It was the Oilers first overtime game this season. It was also the first game Tulsa didn't have a two goal scorer, or score four goals in a game. Colorado has won three in a row after a 7-4 win at Rapid City Saturday night. It was the second three goal victory over the defending Ray Miron President Cup champions in as many nights for Colorado.
Back Home Again: The Oilers are returning home for just their second game at the BOK Center this season. They went 1-1-1 on their recent three game road trip. The Oilers won their only home game of the season, 4-3 over Wichita on October 15th.
Comb Over: Left wing Jack Combs has a three game goal scoring streak, with four goals in that span. He leads the Oilers in goals with four and points with eight.
Tyler Time: Goaltender Tyler Sims played the third period last Tuesday for the Oilers and also played in Saturday's overtime loss at Bloomington. Trevor Cann did not travel to Bloomington after suffering a cut forehead. Brad Best was the Oiler back up goaltender on Saturday. In his two appearances, Sims has a 1.50 goals against average and .933 save percentage.
C-C-R: Like Credence Clearwater Revival, the line of Chad Costello, Jack Combs, and Harrison Reed keep rolling on the river. Combs leads the Oilers with eight points while Costello (3G, 3A) and Reed (2G, 4A) each have six points in the Oilers first four games.
Been Awhile: Since the Oilers beat Colorado. Last season Tulsa was 0-4-1 against the Eagles, with three of those games decided by one goal. Tulsa's last win was 5-4 in overtime on February 24, 2009 at the BOK Center.
Next Up: The Oilers and Colorado square off again on Friday in Colorado at 8:05 p.m. Central time.
