Marco Emond Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (October 26, 2010) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Bloomington's Marco Emond has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending October 24, 2010.

The Valleyfield, Quebec native won both of his starts this past week keeping his team perfect on the young season at 3-0-0. On Friday, Emond stopped 27 shots winning against the Odessa Jackalopes and then on Saturday won in overtime by making 37 saves in a 2-1 victory over the Tulsa Oilers. On the week, Emond stopped 69 of 74 shots and carried a 2.48 goals against average.

Emond joins the PrairieThunder this season after playing for four CHL teams over the past seven seasons. The netminder's all-time CHL record is 112-54-9 with seven shutouts and a career save percentage of .906. Most impressively for Emond is that he has been a part of three different CHL Championship teams (Laredo, Colorado and Arizona).
