
Tolisano walk-off single gives Fisher Cats an 8-7 win over Trenton

Manchester, NH---John Tolisano went 2-for-4 and drove in the winning run with a single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Fisher Cats rallied for an 8-7 win over Trenton Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Facing switch-pitcher Pat Venditte (0-1) in the last of the ninth, Mike McDade led off with a double and Moises Sierra walked. After Craig Stansberry flied out, Mark Sobolewski flied to left and McDade took third. He scored on the single by Tolisano.
Matt Daly (1-0) worked 2.2 innings of scoreless, hitless relief to pick up his first win.
Trenton (1-1) took an early lead in the top of the second inning against Fisher Cats starter Rey Gonzalez. Melky Mesa reached on an error and scored when Corban Joseph (3-for-5) doubled into the left field corner.
New Hampshire (1-1) took a short-lived lead in the bottom of the second After Sierra reached on an error and stole second base, Stansberry doubled to tie the game at 1-1. Sobolewski followed with an RBI single to put the Fisher Cats in front.
The Thunder bounced right back, sending eight men to the plate in the top of the third inning. Austin Krum walked, advanced to second on a ground out, stole third and scored on a come-backer to the mound off the bat of Austin Romine that was misplayed by Gonzalez to tie the score. Romine scored on a single by Cody Johnson (3-for-5, 3 RBI).
In the Trenton fourth, Ray Kruml reached on an error, stole second and third, and scored on a ground out by Krum to give Trenton a 4-2 lead.
The Fisher Cats moved back in front in the home fourth...taking advantage of a walk and two Trenton errors and a double by Adeiny Hechavarria (3-for-4, 2 RBI) to take a 5-4 lead.
Trenton tied the game in the fifth. Johnson singled and Joseph doubled him home---and they took a 7-5 lead in the top of the sixth as Johnson doubled home Krum and Romine.
In the last of the sixth inning, Trenton relievers Wilkins Arias and Kei Igawa combined to walk five batters, leading to two New Hampshire runs which tied the game at 7-7.
Gonzalez worked the first four innings for New Hampshire, allowing six hits and four runs, all unearned. Clint Everts and Vince Perkins worked out of the bullpen before Daly. For Perkins, it was a return to the Fisher Cats, after more than five years. He was a starter when previously in the Blue Jays organization in 2005.
The series with Trenton continues on Saturday afternoon at 1:35pm. Right-hander B.J. LaMura is the scheduled starter for the Fisher Cats against Thunder right-hander Graham Stoneburner.
