Norfolk Tides News Release
Corey Patterson doubled three times to lead an 11-hit attack, but Toledo clubbed three home runs as they knocked off the Tides 10-3 Saturday night at Harbor Park.
Patterson, who doubled off of three different Mud Hens hurlers, upped his average to .370 in 11 games with Norfolk. He also extended his hitting streak to eight games, over which he has batted .471 (16-for-34).
Clete Thomas powered the Mud Hens offense, finishing 3-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, three runs scored and four RBI. Danny Worth also added a solo homer for the Hens, who won for the first time in three tries against the Tides this year.
Norfolk starter Brandon Erbe (0-6) struggled again, as the 22-year-old surrendered six runs on nine hits in 5.2 innings of work. Erbe struck out three and walked three, and his ERA for the season now stands at 7.20.
Alfredo Figaro earned the win for Toledo, improving to 4-1 while allowing one run on seven hits in six innings.
Blake Davis had three hits for Norfolk, while Robert Andino added two hits and two runs scored. Scott Moore singled and drove in two, and has now hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games.
The Tides will wrap up their homestand on Sunday afternoon with a 1:15 contest against the Mud Hens. Chris Tillman (2-3, 3.98) will take the hill for Norfolk against Toledo southpaw Ryan Ketchner (0-0, 3.60).
