Syracuse Chiefs Breast Cancer Awareness Day Rescheduled for May 12

Syracuse, NY--The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, announced today that Breast Cancer Awareness Day has been rescheduled from Sunday, May 9 to Wednesday, May 12.

Chiefs players and coaches will wear special pink jerseys and hats for Wednesday's game. The hats will be autographed after the game and will be included in a silent auction that will take place on the concourse during the game. The silent auction will also feature Vera Bradley merchandise along with sports memorabilia provided by Charity Auctions. The jerseys will be available for outright purchase in Whistlestop Souvenirs, online at SyracuseChiefs.com and through the Chiefs' nightly jersey raffles.

In addition, the Chiefs and Centerplate will host a Pink Dinner Party in the Hank Sauer Room from 6:00pm until 7:30pm. The buffet dinner price is $18 for adults and $16 for children 12 & younger and does not include a game ticket. The menu will include: assorted appetizers, strawberry salad, roasted pork loin with pink pepper sauce, pink redskin mashed potatoes, chef's choice of chicken, green beans almondine, strawberry shortcake, assorted cookies, soft drinks, coffee.

Chiefs pitcher Stephen Strasburg is expected to make his second career triple-A start on Wednesday when the Chiefs host the Norfolk Tides at 7:00pm.

The Pink Hat Giveaway scheduled for Sunday, May 9 will still take place. The first 500 women 18 & older through the ballpark gates on Mother's Day for the Chiefs' 2:00pm game with the Gwinnett Braves will receive a complimentary pink Chiefs hat. Gates will open at 1:00pm.
