Toglia Homers, Reaches Base All Five Times as Yard Goats Win Fourth Straight

Hartford, Conn- Michael Toglia tallied four hits, including a three-run homer, and every Yard Goats player had at least one hit for the second consecutive game, as the Hartford Yard Goats beat the Harrisburg Senators 9-4 in front of a sellout crowd Saturday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Grant Lavigne broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to put the Yard Goats ahead for good. Hartford combined for 14 hits for the third consecutive game, and scored four runs in the fifth inning and five runs in the seventh. The Yard Goats won their fourth straight game and first series in the second half.

Harrisburg opened the scoring in the top of the fourth inning on a John Nogowski solo homer off Hartford's starter Mitch Kilkenny. The Yard Goats right-hander kept the Senators in check, allowing one run on two hits through the first six innings.

The Yard Goats took the lead with four runs in the fifth. Willie MacIver led off the inning by cracking a home run over the left field wall off Senators starter Luis Reyes. The longball was MacIver's 12th of the season and tied the game at one. Then, Daniel Montano walked, and Hunter Stovall singled. Toglia stepped up with two outs and blasted a three-run moonshot to the right-field porch seats. The switch-hitter's third hit of the game and 16th home run of the year put Hartford in front 4-1.

The Nationals affiliate tied the game 4-4 in the top of the seventh, highlighted by an Andrew Young two-run homer. Fineas Del Bonta-Smith was called in relief and prevented the Senators from taking the lead.

The Yard Goats responded, taking the lead by storm with a five-run bottom of the seventh. Grant Lavigne lined an RBI single, scoring Montano to put Hartford back in the lead 5-4. Aaron Schunk and Brenton Doyle followed by cracking back-to-back doubles to score three more runs. Isaac Collins joined the hit parade with an RBI single, extending the Yard Goats' lead to 9-4. Riley Pint and Dugan Darnell closed out Harrisburg to seal the win for Hartford.

The Yard Goats wrap up their homestand against the Nationals affiliate, the Harrisburg Senators, on Sunday afternoon at 1:05. RHP Tony Locey will start for the Yard Goats. The game will be broadcast on Newsradio 1410 WPOP.
