Wilson Tobs News Release

WILSON, N.C. - The Wilson Tobs scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning and come from two runs back to defeat the Fayetteville SwampDogs 5-4 on Tuesday night at Historic Fleming Stadium.

Wilson (6-13) trailed by a pair of runs in the last of the 10th inning but came storming back with runners at second at third with just one out before collecting back-to-back base hits from Andrew Ister and Zack Houchins to even the score at four with just one out. Following a error by the SwampDogs the Tobs had the bases loaded and won the game on a Bryan Bass gapper to right-centerfield for the final 5-4 margin of victory.

Fayetteville (12-7) entered the 10th with the game even and plated a pair of runs against Zach Merciez (W, 1-2) - who gave up a couple of singles and balked the first run of the inning home. Andrew Parker followed with a double to left and give the SwampDogs a two-run lead before Wilson rallied to win the game.

The Tobs will return to Historic Fleming Stadium on Wednesday night as they host Edenton Steamers. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The Wilson Tobs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league.
