PETERSBURG V.A.- The Wilson Tobs improved their record to (7-9) with a 4-1 victory on Friday night in Petersburg Virginia over the Petersburg Generals (3-12). Wilson opened the scoring in the top of the third innings as Zac Mitchell hit a leadoff double to right field. Mitchell advanced to third on a wild pitch by General's starter Matthew Hewitt, and scored on a passed ball that got by Petersburg catcher Jack Cleary. That made the score Wilson 1, Petersburg 0. In the sixth, Joe Costigan added some insurance when he doubled with two outs to left field and brought in a run. The Tobs enjoyed a 4-0 lead after six full innings.
The Petersburg Generals got on the board in the bottom of the seventh. After an error and a walk that loaded the bases, Manager Bruce Johnson said that was it for starter Craig Goodman.
