
Tobs Get Revenge against Generals, Win 7-3

WILSON, N.C., May 28, 2015- The Tobs took command of the of the Generals and got their revenge as they defeated Petersburg by a 7-3 score.
Like the Tobs the night before, the Generals took an early one-run lead only to have the Tobs come back with four runs in the first. Three of those first inning runs came off the bat of Cole Bedford (Texas A&M) when launched a cloud scrapping home run over the left field fence.
Petersburg answered with a run in the top of the second, but couldn't score again until the eighth.
After the Tobs batted through the order in the first, Generals' starter Devin Sweet managed to face the minimum until the bottom of the sixth when Bedford and Andrew Webster (Barton) recorded back to back doubles. Sweet recored his first loss of the season.
The Tobs added two runs in the bottom of the seventh after a double and error by the Generals.
Trent Cormier (LSU-Shreveport) gave the Tobs the longest outing of the young season pitch five and two thirds innings. Cormier was also the winning pitcher, giving him a 1-0 record.
The Tobs will travel to Edenton to take on the Steamers on Friday and then to Holly Springs before returning home for the Bark in the Park on Sunday. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. with gates opening at 4 p.m.
