Toast to the Coast Returns to Buck Hardee Field

Wilmington, N.C. - Prior to Saturday evening's game against the Forest City Owls, the Sharks will host their second annual Toast to the Coast beer fest at Buck Hardee Field.

In addition to North Carolina's own Mother Earth and Highland Pale Ale, five other craft beer brewers will showcase their beverages. Those breweries include Allagash (Maine), Bell's (Mich.), Ska (Colo.), Unita (Utah) and Victory (Penn.). In all, there will be twelve different kinds of beer for attendees to sample.

Tickets will cost $18 in advance, or $24 at the gate. Fans who attend the event, which lasts from 1-5:00 p.m., will be welcome to stay in the park to watch batting practice in its entirety before gates open at the regularly scheduled time of 6:00 for the general public. The cost includes game admission.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Now in its 16th season, The Coastal Plain League features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer. The CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 52 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
