DAYTON, OH (March 9, 2005) - Janne Jokila's four goals put the stamp on a 7-1 loss for the Trenton Titans against the Dayton Bombers.
2,170 in attendance at the Nutter Center saw Jokila score two goals in the opening period of play to help the Bombers to a 3-0 lead. The native of Turku, Finland drew first blood on the power play at 4:33 and then beat Chris Houle with a wrist shot to the left corner of the net at 11:15. Scott Basiuk tallied the third Bomber goal of the period after which Andrew Allen came in to relive Houle.
The Titans finally got on the board at 12:08 of the second period when Scott Bertoli tapped home a cross-ice feed from Brent Robinson for a power play goal making the score 3-1.
With the Titans starting the beginning of the period on the penalty kill, Jeff Szwez one-timed Brett Ozarwoski's pass over Allen to put his team back up by three goals. In the final frame, Jokila lit the lamp at 14:11 and then notched a shorthanded goal 1:50 later to complete his four-goal evening and put the game well out of reach.
Houle suffered the loss falling to 11-10-6 on the year. The Titans were 1-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-8 on the penalty kill.
