New Jersey Titans News Release

PITTSTON, Pa. - Two early goals by New Jersey and a 38-save shutout performance by Jac Berry paced the Titans to a 4-0 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

Joe Schuler would break the scoreless tie at the 5:45 mark of the opening frame when he fired a puck past the outstretched glove of Andrey Svistunov. For Schuler, the goal was his third of the season.

Later on the man advantage, New Jersey scored again to increase the lead to 2-0. The goal came from Keegan Miller who was all alone against Svistunov.

Andrew Durham and Raymond Brice helped on Miller's seventh of the season.

Both teams exchanged chances in the middle frame including power play opportunities but neither could find the back of the cage.

Titans goalie Jack Berry made valuable saves in the second period to keep the score at 2-0 going into the second intermission.

The Titans added to their lead when Brad Becker found open room in the low slot and roofed a puck over the glove of Knights netminder Grant Valentine.

With the goalie pulled with six minutes to play, Titans forward Garrett Hallford potted anempty-net goal to make it 4-0.

Berry shut the door in the final five minutes and stopped a total of 38 Wilkes-Barre/Scranton shots. New Jersey went 1-for-3 on the man advantage.

The Knights and Titans lock horns once again on Friday Oct. 30 at Middletown Ice World for a 7:30 faceoff.
