Moncton, NB - Acadie-Bathurst Titan doubled the Moncton Wildcats 4 - 2 on Tuesday before 6,413 at the Moncton Coliseum.
The teams were tied 1 - 1 after the first period and the Titan grabbed a 2 - 1 margin heading into the third period. Mathieu Roy (43rd,PP) and Mathieu Perreault (12th,SH, EN) led the Titan with a goal and an assist each, while Thomas Beauregard (43rd,PP) and Petr Pohl (23rd) each added a goal.
Replying for the Wildcats were Jerome Samson (16th) and Martins Karsums (30th,PP), with assists going to Samson, Keith Yandle, Christian Gaudet and Josh Hepditch.
Moncton outshot Acadie-Bathurst 31 - 27, including 16 - 6 in the third period, while the Titan held a 10 - 6 advantage in the first and 11 - 9 in the middle stanza. Gabriel Bouthillette blocked 25 of 27 shots he faced to improve his record to 29 - 20, while Josh Tordjman allowed three goals on 30 shots in 59:46 to see his record fall to 28 - 21. Since joining Moncton at mid-season, he has accumulated a record of 15 - 4. Acadie-Bathurst was 2 for 7 on the powerplay while Moncton went 1 for 6.
The game's three stars were #1 - Mathieu Roy, #2 - Jerome Samson and #3 - Petr Pohl.
Moncton returns to action on Wednesday when they host the Victoriaville Tigres in a 7 pm contest at the Moncton Coliseum. Recently returned Olympian Russ Howard will be honoured prior to the start of Wednesday's game.
