Timberwolves to Host 2024-25 Preseason Game at Wells Fargo Arena, Home of NBA G League Affiliate, Iowa Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team will host a 2024-25 preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers at the home of their G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves. The game is scheduled for Oct. 11 (6:00 p.m. tipoff) at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

"This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Minnesota Timberwolves and NBA basketball to our ever-growing fanbase which continues to expand throughout the Upper Midwest," said Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Operating Officer Ryan Tanke. "We are proud of the synergy we have built with our Wolves G League affiliate, and can't wait for fans in Iowa and around the region to come out and experience Timberwolves basketball at the best arena and home court advantage in the G League."

This marks the first time the Timberwolves will play a game, preseason or regular, at Wells Fargo Arena. The Timberwolves twice hosted the Milwaukee Bucks, including on Oct. 7, 2018 at Hilton Coliseum on Iowa State University's campus and on Oct. 21, 1997 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines.
