Timbers Waive Defender Pablo Bonilla

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers have waived defender Pablo Bonilla, the club announced today.

Bonilla, 23, appeared in 38 matches (30 starts) for the Timbers, tallying two assists in his four seasons (2020-2023) with the club. The Venezuelan international was originally signed to T2 from Deportivo La Guaira Fútbol Club ahead of the 2020 season and earned a first team contract in June of that year.

Bonilla made his MLS debut with a start against the Houston Dynamo on July 18, 2020, helping Portland to a 2-1 win. In MLS NEXT Pro play, Bonilla made 15 appearances (13 starts), recording three assists for T2 since the start of the 2022 season.
