
Timbers to Face Sporting Kansas City in Western Conference Championship

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers will face Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of the two-game, aggregate-goal Western Conference Championship in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs at Providence Park on Sunday, Nov. 25, it was announced this evening. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific), the match will be televised nationally on FS1.
Individual tickets for Portland's home playoff match against Sporting Kansas City on Nov. 25 are currently available for purchase online here and by phone at (888) 736-6849. Group tickets can be purchased by calling (503) 553-5555.
Following the Nov. 25 match, Portland will travel to Kansas City for the second leg of the Western Conference Championship on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Children's Mercy Park. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. (Pacific), the match will televised nationally on ESPN.
The Timbers advanced to the Western Conference Championship with a 4-2 penalty-kick shootout victory on the road against Seattle Sounders FC in the second leg of the Western Conference Semifinals on Nov. 8. Portland has now appeared in the conference championship round three times (2013, 2015, 2018) in the last six seasons. The Timbers are one of just three teams to appear in three conference championships since 2013 (New York Red Bulls, Seattle Sounders FC).
The Western Conference Championship will mark the second time Portland and Sporting Kansas City have squared off in the MLS Cup Playoffs, with the Timbers advancing past Sporting Kansas City in the Knockout Round of the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.
