Chris Richards to Join U.S. U-20s Squad for Qualification Stage

Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas Homegrown Chris Richards is one of three players called in by U.S. U-20 head coach Tab Ramos as replacement players for the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship qualification stage.

This is Richards second call-up to the U-20s, who is currently on loan with FC Bayern Munich through the Elite Player Development partnership between the two clubs. Richards appeared in the 3-1 win vs. Venezuela's U-20s in the 2018 U.S. Soccer U-20 Men's Invitational.

The U-20s swept its five Group A matches of the 2018 tournament, defeating Puerto Rico 7-1, U.S. Virgin Islands 13-0, Trinidad and Tobago 6-1, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 6-0, and Suriname 7-0. The outscored their opponents 39-2. They move on to the qualification stage along with Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Panama.

The U-20 MNT will face Costa Rica on Friday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT and Honduras on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. CT at IMG Academy Stadium in Bradenton, Fla. The matches will be broadcasted on Univision Deportes Network.
