PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers received a late goal in second-half stoppage time, but fell 2-1 to Seattle Sounders FC at Providence Park on Sunday afternoon. Bill Tuiloma tallied the lone goal for Portland, delivering on a free-kick attempt in the 94th minute.
Timbers Firsts
Tuiloma notched his first goal of the 2021 campaign. It marked the first time he has scored at Providence Park in his career. Jeremy Ebobisse earned his first start of the season and made his 2021 Providence Park debut, logging 60 minutes. Andy Polo and Hunter Sulte also made their first home appearances of 2021 in the match.
Penalties At Providence Park
Portland was awarded a penalty kick in the 55th minute after Jeremy Ebobisse was fouled inside the box. Diego Valeri stepped to the spot and his attempt was initially saved by Seattle's Stefan Frei, but Portland was awarded a second attempt after Nouhou was called for encroachment in the box. Valeri re-took the kick, but his shot bounced off the left post.
Goal-Scoring Plays
